eCommerce & Distance Selling

eCommerce and distance selling are some of the fastest growing segments in the Internal Market and Direct Marketing is strongly linked to it.

FEDMA’s members have a strong interest in using eCommerce to market (their) products across national borders to consumers in other EU member states, because of the significant growth that this aspiring market is expected to experience in the coming years. In order to sell their products across borders, the internet is their preferred channel. More specifically, direct and interactive marketing acts as an enabler for eCommerce, especially across borders.

Marketing is considered to be a major driver of commercial activity. Direct and Interactive Marketing is a driver of eCommerce because it provides distance sellers with the techniques to attract customers, to sell products, and to build a relationship with the consumer following the purchase. Without direct and interactive marketing eCommerce operators cannot prosper nor reap the potential benefits (economic growth, jobs, etc) that this sector holds, especially for SMEs and micro-companies.

FEDMA works closely with associations such as EMOTA – European Ecommerce and Mail Order Trade Association http://www.emota.eu/.

The leading FEDMA structure where eCommerce belongs to, is the Legal Affairs and Ethics Committee under the coordination of Mathilde Fiquet.
