Is Privacy Shield strong enough?
22nd November 2016 – Just three months have passed since EU-US Privacy Shield was agreed and at least two allegations have already been submitted to the courts of the EU.
One of the challenges was presented by the Irish Data Protection Agency ‘Digital Rights Ireland’. Added to this is a French initiative of ‘La Quadrature du Net’, ‘French Data Natwork’, a non-profit ISP and the FDN industrial association, all of which work together. These two groups complain that Privacy Shield does not go far enough to protect the personal data of EU citizens when they are transferred to the United States. Read more
