FEDMA in the Spotlight
FEDMA has actively participated in several high-level events on data and marketing throughout the month of November, which is often conference season. These events provided valuable opportunities for FEDMA to engage with industry experts and discuss the latest trends and challenges in the data-driven marketing landscape.
EDAA Summit – 14 November
FEDMA's Commercial Director, Robin de Wouters, had the honor of giving the closing remarks of an event focusing on transparency in digital advertising, with the announcement of EDAA’s Advanced Advertising Transparency Programme. The ethical dimension of AdTech was also highlighted, and the importance of looking at the enforcement and implementation of existing regulations was discussed. In addition, the latest developments in self-regulation in the US, Argentina, and Canada were also tackled.
IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress – 15-16 November
FEDMA's participation in the IAPP DPC marked the third consecutive year that the organization hosted a high-level panel at Brussels’ biggest privacy event. This panel was moderated by FEDMA’s co-chair and Acxiom’s European Privacy Officer, Sachiko Scheuing (Acxiom) and featured distinguished speakers such as Alexandre Lépine the Legal Officer at the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), Karolina Mojzesowicz, the Deputy Head of Unit Data Protection at the European Commission and Gilbert Hill Privacy Technologist, Industry Commissioner to UK Data & Marketing Regulator. The panel entitled “Can Privacy by Design Fund a Free Internet?” discussed how privacy by design can balance data protection and business interests, considering the evolving data protection landscape, new EU legislation, Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), and privacy-oriented business models.
Digital Marketing World Forum (DMWF) – 21 November
Last but not least, FEDMA moderated a discussion at the DMWF Europe event in Amsterdam with industry experts Beata Linz (AdBirds) and Sean Barten (Spotler Group) on GDMA’s latest international email benchmark. The panel explored the recent email benchmark, which provides a baseline measurement for marketers on campaign effectiveness, and looked at the latest trends in email marketing.
