Data and Marketing Industry meets in Prague to Tackle Common Challenges
Last week, FEDMA and ADMEZ hosted a two-day meeting in the charming city of Prague, where its national Data and Marketing Associations (DMA) members from various European countries converged to forge meaningful connections and engage in fruitful discussions on the current and upcoming challenges in the data and marketing industry.
The diverse backgrounds, languages, and perspectives in the conference room created an atmosphere ripe for innovation and fresh thinking. Colleagues had the opportunity to discuss face-to-face on many topics, including (but not limited to):
- Discussing recent regulatory developments at both EU and national level, such as the lack of a unified implementation of GDPR and the expected impact of the Data Act, Digital Services Act, AI Act, Political Advertising, etc.
- Sharing the outcome and current state of approvals of national Codes of Conduct for data driven marketing
- Achieving a consensus on the future challenges of the industry with agreed action plans on sustainability, impact of AI, and the importance of skills development for the industry
This two-day FEDMA meeting in Prague exemplified the power of bringing together companies and associations from across Europe. The conversations, interactions, and collaborations that unfolded during this event fed the collective knowledge of FEDMA membership. The meeting not only strengthened the FEDMA’s cohesion but also laid the groundwork for future achievements and initiatives in ensuring an efficient data-driven marketing industry across Europe.
FEDMA also welcomed 2 guest speakers, Ing. Pavla Zichová, Director of the consumer protection section of the Czech Telecommunications Office (ČTÚ) and Josef Prokeš, Vice President of Data Protection Office (ÚOOÚ).
Beyond the conference, the participants also had the opportunity to explore Prague's rich history, architecture, and cultural landmarks. These shared experiences outside the formal meeting setting fostered deeper connections and further reinforced the sense of unity.
2023 General Assembly
FEDMA also held its General Assembly, during which it elected its board of directors for a 3-year mandate (2023 – 2026). The FEDMA Secretariat would like to thank its outgoing and incoming Board Members for their work and support.
